You can often sell 10% performance boosts in skill-based games without the essential 'skill' of the game being harmed.

The top score is over double the score the of next highest. A 10% boost won't threaten this.

To make the boosts feel meaningful, make them time limited powerups. A bomb that destroys a mass of enemies feels amazing, but it only lasts til the enemies respawn.

Also, people pay for persistence. What are players investing in here?
