The Single Compilation Unit sounds like a neat trick, I've seen a varient of it[1], where all the classes had their functions implemented inline. I thought it looked a bit wacky at the time, but it seems that there might have been a method to the madness.. :)
[1] I assume it was a varient of this technique, it was just some code I found without any explaination.
